Going All Hippy (Well Almost All)

Think I’ve been brainwashed and am starting to feel like I’ve gone all hippy.

Still going to resist sitting around a fire all crossed legged (mainly cause I’m not able to get my knees to do that!) and sing kumbayah while wearing a tye-dye shirt though.

You see, thanks to DPMer Phoebe who’s been slowly brainwashing me I’ve started trying some new things lately.

Like most of us I guess, it can be easy to get caught up in the way you’ve always done things and not really look at a new line of thinking.

Despite whatever evidence and pleading from others that this new thing may actually be beneficial.

Sound familiar maybe to you or someone you know?

But she’s been slowly sending me info on a couple of different things (or hippy tonics as I’ve joked to her about).

I think she might be onto something though.

Well, I hope she is cause the way my body feels I’d do pretty much anything for a solution.

In the last few months especially I’ve been feeling like my body has been abducted and replaced with someones who is in their 70s.

And what I’ve been doing wasn’t giving much relief unfortunately.

The joys of not listening to your body when you’re younger and think you’re invincible.

Not letting my rugby injuries heal properly at the time before playing again.

Or the big mistake of seeing the hot physio instead of the good one that actually ran the business (rookie error).

True story.

But I digress.

This new hippy stuff I’ve been embracing that Phoebe first gave me to try (and got my curiosity up) is something called Kombucha.

And she’s also given me some beef broth to try.

The premises that sold me was that it is good for reducing joint pain – among a bunch of other benefits – including better gut health and weight loss to name 2 more.

Figured it was worth opening my mind to something different.

And I like the taste of it.

Even made myself a batch of Kombucha yesterday.

Will see how it turns out in a week.

But it’s worth a shot.

Like I always say, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting addifferent result.

And next time I’m at the meat market I’ll give making my own beef broth a go too.
